Here are a few screenshots of my WorkBench, running 800X600 16bit on a
BPPC 040/160 + Bvision combo. Here are the details on the shots.
Firstly this shot shows:
I have a "nice" backdrop. I use the newest CybergraphX (4.0- commercial £25) and
the newset picture datatypes, as well as FastIPrefs (Aminet, CD's etc)
I use MagicWB (Shareware (!), just for a dumb pallete thing which I don't use
anymore), which is nice and neutral and doesn't bother me much.
I am writing this on BlacksED (shareware AMINET), a fine text editor.
This is the first version before it became register-ware, if it continues developing-
I would register it.
The toolbar is ToolManager v3 (Aminet), containing sub menus and also,
which you can't see, a menu in the toolbar for Prefs and checking the validity
of my PFS2 partitions (Commercial £30).
The tool bar main icons from left to right are:
Popup COMMS, SOUND and IMAGE menu's (see pic 2), KINGCON (Free? on AFCD's), EASYFIND
(V. Good MUI finder util, shareware Aminet), BLACKSEDITOR, SNOOPDOS, an MUI CALCULATOR,
SID2 (ancient but still useful- promoted to a CGX screen by MODEPRO), YACDP (V. old &
good cd player/cdda recorder), ICONINSTALLER (app window icon replacer), MYSTICVIEW
(see other pics, excellent viewer for CGX, can do so many brilliant things! Where do
I register it?), and lastly IDER, for dropping text files, viewing archives etc on
(can even get the version of libs and datatypes, using VERSIONWB).
The Second Shot shows a few more useful things- Improved MUI ASL requestors
(Shareware,& I will register- it's very, very useful with a GFX card), a few
prefs icons, for among other things, the AKDatatypes (Registered for the PPC, £25),
Birdie, and the ever useful Assign Manager (like a few of the things I use a lot, Topaz
through and through but not bettered IMHO). Also there is my Config shown by
MULTICX (As I keep telling that damn requestor, I will register..), and a
picture of my gormless self. AMICDFS gives me a nice shareware filesystem,
bringing up the AFCD there.
The third shot shows the pop-up COMMS menu, my WBStartup- (the ever florid
CROSSDOS (WB Version, I also run CROSSMAC as you can see, which I bought for
the truly Macintosh price three years ago of £85. Still I'm getting to use it now
I have FUSION (£20 with PCX thrown in from Blittersoft) Is this starting to sound like a
Hello Magazine article? Now there's a thought. Going on, there's the swonderful,
smarvellous, SWAZINFO (shareware, or chocoware), and the others I have already
mentioned. Also showing on this screen near you are some nice stuff like FRODOPPC
(running LCP painfully slow on this 16bit screen), and CYBERGRAB (Phase5ware),
which just happened to be passing and took these snaps. Thanks.
None of the shareware programs are unusual, most can be found by a search on Aminet, with the
exception of YACDP, which came from an old AmigaShopper disk. Get Connected!
